Our Story

I’m Shobhit Tyagi, Director of Mahavir Sports Industries, proudly carrying forward the legacy of our family-run enterprise, SPORT AXE. Born in 1988 in India, my journey began with a passion for sports, particularly cricket, which laid the foundation for my professional path. Before stepping into the business world, I actively pursued a career in cricket. I represented the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) at various levels—selected for the U-14 team in 2001 and the U-15 team in 2003. In 2007, I participated in the U-19 training camp, and in 2008–09, I had the privilege of representing Chaudhary Charan Singh University as well as competing at the All India level.

We are proud to be recognized as a leading manufacturer of handmade English Willow cricket bats and hand-stitched leather balls, crafted by skilled artisans with over 25 years of experience. The SPORT AXE cricket ball continues to be produced at our Indian headquarters with the same dedication to quality and performance.

Since 2001, SPORT AXE English Willow bats have been used in high-level cricket leagues. In 2003, our R&D team introduced two innovative bat designs: the SPORT AXE Scoop and SPORT AXE Fire, which quickly gained popularity among professional cricketers.

In 2010, Mr. Shobhit Tyagi, son of the founder and current Director, officially adopted the trading name SPORT AXE to align with the growing recognition of the brand.

Today, SPORT AXE produces over 50,000 cricket bats and equipment pieces annually, making us one of the last remaining Indian manufacturers to handcraft bats and stitch balls in-house, maintaining the highest standards of quality control.
